Splittio ("we," "our," or "us") is an expense-splitting application designed to help users track and share expenses within groups. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

2.1 Device Information

Device Identifier: We collect your Android device ID to identify you within the app and manage group ownership. This is used instead of traditional account registration.

2.2 Group and Expense Data

• Group Information: Group names, descriptions, currencies, share codes, and trip dates
• Member Information: Names and optional email addresses of group members
• Expense Information: Expense titles, descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, and how expenses are split among members

2.3 Payment Information

Stripe Payments: For premium features, we use Stripe as our payment processor. Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We only receive confirmation of successful payments.

2.4 Camera Data

Receipt Scanning: With your permission, we access your device camera to scan receipts. Images are processed for expense extraction and are not stored permanently.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage expense-sharing groups
• Calculate and display balances between group members
• Enable group sharing via share codes
• Process premium subscription payments
• Sync your data across devices via Firebase

4. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase/Firestore cloud services
• We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication — no email or password is required
• Data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS)
• We implement appropriate technical measures to protect against unauthorized access

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Firebase/Google: For cloud data storage and authentication
• Stripe: For payment processing (premium features only)

6. Data Retention

• Your group and expense data is retained as long as the group exists
• When a group is deleted, all associated data (members, expenses) is permanently removed
• You can delete your groups at any time through the app

• Access your data through the app
• Delete your groups and associated data
• Withdraw camera permissions at any time via device settings

8. Children's Privacy

Splittio is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
